Musical Forms in the Classic and Romantic Periods

"What kind of music do you hear from the Classic and Romantic periods? We'll deal mainly with instrumental music from these periods, and some vocal music...A lot of what we'll be talking about is forms and structures. How is a symphony organized? How is it put together? If you know how a symphony is put together you also know how a string quartet is put together..."said Dr. Broyles, and started his explanation of the basic forms of western music in the Classic and Romantic periods.
