Best of TechNation (CNN, Satellites, and SCUDS)

Dr. Moira Gunn speaks to Dick Tauber, Director of Satellites and Circuits for the Cable News Network (CNN), on his experience in getting live reports back from the Persian Gulf War. They discuss "fly aways," those crucial early hours of Operation Desert Storm, and how CNN learned Saddam Hussein was watching CNN.

Moira also speaks with Peter Neumann, Computer Scientist at SRI International and author of the monthly column "Inside Risks." They look at the quality of American software and technology in general, using the examples of the Hubble Telescope and the failure of the Patriot defense system in Dharan to defend against the incoming Scud missle which destroyed a Marine barracks.
