Best of TechNation (Names and Romance Novels)

Dr. Moira Gunn speaks with Ira Bachrach, President of NAMELAB, to discuss how vintage automobiles were named, and how the naming conventions for cars has evolved over the years. Ira tells how he named the Acura and about the reaction to the female-oriented Probe. They discuss the technology of name creation, as well as the international considerations for creating technology names and model numbers.

Moira also speaks with Evelyn Brown, President of Swan Publishing. Evelyn writes romance novels with a twist--you and your sweetheart are the hero and heroine. They discuss how the genre of romance novels lends itself to automation--and how the author goes beyond simple name substitution to the inclusion of complex information and facts that don't easily fit.
