IMS: GRAPES and Mice, TechNation

GRAPES and Mice

Dr. Moira Gunn's first guests are Joan Salute, Manager of the GRAPES project at NASA/Ames Research Center and Phil Frieze, Head of Winemaking for Robert Mondavi Winery. They'll be talking about a partnership between private industry and the federal government, a partnership which addresses the infestation of a disease which seriously affects the $10 billion/year California wine industry. Learn how NASA's satellites and low-flying aircraft combine with specialized sensors to discover the roots of this problem.

In the second half, Moira interviews Cliff Brooks, Product Manager for Microsoft's new mouse. He describes the ergonomic development, how they tested it, left-handed-ness, and more marketing-type topics.
