Considering Peace (Part 1)
Norwegian Johan Galtung, Professor of Peace Studies, University of Hawaii
and founder of the International Peace Research Institute in Oslo, asks
"Since the Cold War is over, what happened to peace?" Galtung is one of
the pioneers of peace research, founder of the International Peace Research
Institute in Oslo, and the guest on this edition of Common Ground. Galtung
compares peace studies with strategic studies as being "like medical science
is to biology. We're trying to make not only diagnosis and prognosis, but
also therapy."
