Post-election euphoria and a spirit of reconciliation linger over South Africa. But the problems facing the nation are enormous. On this episode of Common Ground, South Africans discuss the meaning and future of life in their newly democratic country. Those interviewed include Jacklyn Cock, author; Patrick "Terror" Lekota, premier of the Orange Free State, South Africa; Paulus Ngcobu, regional secretary of the Congress of South African Trade Unions; Norman Ngwedzini, organizing secretary of the Soweto Civic Association; Ian Stedman, dean of the arts faculty at the University of Witwatersrand; and other residents of South Africa.
