Elmer Johnson, Automobile Expert
Elmer Johnson, an attorney at Kirkland and Ellis, spent five
years in the heart of General Motors, rising rapidly to become
a Vice President and member of the Board. While at GM, Johnson
argued against the Saturn project and handled negotiations for
the buyout of Ross Perot. Recently, he worked on a report with
somewhat radical views on the future of the auto industry, sponsored
by the Aspen Institute and the American Academy of Arts and
Sciences.
