Abba Eban
On May 27, 1994, Abba Eban, the former
Israeli
ambassador to the United States
spoke at the National Press Club. Ambassador Eban has had an active role in
Israeli government and politics since 1950. He described the progress in
achieving peace in the Middle East, including the compromises needed to
establish a Palestinian autonomous presence and the changes in Israeli
diplomacy over the past several years.
