Tom Uniack of Defenders of Wildlife shared the concern of many of Earth Day XXV attendees that the U.S. Congress is embarking on a course of action intended to reverse the environmental gains of the past twenty-five years. Tom expressed concern about the salvage logging issue, feeling that it might be being used as a pretext to avoid legitimate regulations of logging on public lands. He feels that there is a move toward arbitrary anti-environmentalism, in many cases not supported by facts or examined with sufficient care.
