Review Panel Biographies

NICK OLCOTT


Nick Olcott is an actor, director, and playwright whose work has been seen across the nation. He is the only person in the history of the Helen Hayes Awards to have received nominations in three separate categories: as Outstanding Supporting Actor for Brian Friel's Faith Healer at Scena Theatre, as Outstanding Director for David Ives' All in the Timing at the Round House Theatre, and for Outstanding New Play for his stage adaptations of Henry James' The Turn of the Screw and The Aspern Papers, produced at the Washington Stage Guild. He has also performed and/or directed at Arena Stage, the Delaware Theatre Company, Ford's Theatre, the Folger Shakespeare Theatre, the Virginia Shakespeare Festival, the Champlain Shakespeare Festival, and Scotland's Edinburgh Festival. His most recent play, an adaptation of John Steinbeck's The Pearl, just completed a national tour under the auspices of The Kennedy Center. On film, he has appeared in That Night with Juliette Lewis and in the upcoming Shadow Conspiracy with Linda Hamilton. On television, he was featured in Barry Levinson's Homicide. He has taught at The American University and served as an adjudicator for the American College Theatre Festival.
