Herb Kelleher
On June 8, 1994, Herb Kelleher, CEO of
Southwest Airlines
spoke at a National
Press Club luncheon. In a speech seasoned with humor and strong opinion,
Kelleher shared his view of the recent events in the airline industry and his
experience as a member of the National Commission to Ensure a Strong and
Competitive Airline Industry. He cited several examples of how government
regulations prohibit the FAA and the airlines from using new technologies to
make air travel safer and more economical.
